About <Cursed with Awesome>

CwA is a Horde guild on the US-Crushridge (PvP) server. We originally formed as <Asylum> on the US-Aerie Peak server the day it opened (6/16/06) but left for Crushridge on 6/29/09 in search of a larger and more competitive Horde population.

We are a progression-oriented 25-man raiding guild whose primary focus is to provide a serious raiding environment for people on a limited schedule (~ 14 hours/wk). We pride ourselves on making the most of our time and allowing people to see all of the raid content Blizzard has to offer without a hardcore time commitment.

Raid Schedule (Pacific/server time)

Sunday: 8:30-midnight
Monday: 8:30-midnight
Tuesday: off
Wednesday: 8:30-midnight
Thursday: 8:30-midnight
Friday: off
Saturday: off

Officers

Greltok
Barthurn
Honeypants
Shadenfreude

Member Expectations

Know your class. In order to be successful at raiding, members must spend time researching their class to perform at a high level. Being a regular reader of the theorycrafting forums at Elitist Jerks or another similar type of forum (Tankspot, etc.) is a big plus.

Maintain 75% attendance. A consistent roster is key to the success of a raiding guild. Members who cannot maintain this availability are demoted to Casual status and lose priority when scheduling raids. Please note that 75% is the bare minimum to maintain Raider status--we prefer closer to 90%.

Come prepared. Your gear should always be fully gemmed and enchanted. Don't show up to raids without consumables, reagents, etc. If you aren't ready to put your best foot forward, we will replace you with someone who is.

Learn to spec. This relates directly back to knowing your class. No PvP specs in PvE. In the case that one particular spec is clearly superior for PvE purposes, we reserve the right to require that you raid as that spec.

Be respectful. This guild has survived as long as it has because we have a zero-tolerance policy on drama and we try to stay humble. How you conduct yourself reflects upon the guild as a whole, and acts of overt retardation are flat out unacceptable.

Recruitment

You can always view the classes we are recruiting via the "Membership" widget to the left. If you are interested in applying to CwA, first go here:

http://warcraftasylum.guildlaunch.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=866288&sid=338b215eb5cdae4d01ad24922dfb85c3&gid=19607

And then apply by clicking the "Apply to Guild" link that is also located in the "Membership" widget. Do not simply make a new thread in the Applications forum. It proves that you either did not read up to this point or have failed the initial IQ test in the application process, resulting in a swift decline.

Applicants must provide us with some form of combat log-based report (World of Logs or Wowmeteronline). If your existing guild does not use these, it is extremely easy to record and post one on your own. Follow the instructions in this link to get yourself started: http://worldoflogs.com/help/index/

Screenshot We would like to see your interface in a raid. Alterac Valley and Wintergrasp are easy ways to do this quickly.

Review We will do our best to make a decision on your application within 7 days. Sometimes our members will post questions on your application, so checking back occasionally is encouraged. On average, decisions take 2-4 days.

Trial Once we have accepted your application, we will offer you a 'trial' position. After you have transferred servers and joined the guild, you will be approved on the website. Trial rank is to ensure you're a decent fit with the guild and meet the performance expectations you have set for yourself. Trial periods vary from 2 days to 2 weeks, depending on what day of the week you join the guild, performance, attendance, etc. Loot questions are covered in the Wiki.
